Camping Checklist By BOATING 4X4 CAMPING
|
Have you ever arrived at your camping spot after driving for hours and realising that you have forgotten your sleeping bag or your toothbrush or even worse, the toilet paper. Well guess what, your not alone. It happens to us all so I have prepared the following check list. Keep in mind it is only a guide and this list will vary depending on many variables such as your destination, length of stay, facilities available, time of year, etc. Consider the following items before you leave on your next camping holiday. * Basic toiletries - soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, brush, razor, face washer, shampoo & conditioner. * BBQ and gas bottle (don't forget the regulator and hose) * BBQ stand * Camp oven can be very handy when cooking on a fire * Bedding - sheets, pillows, sleeping bags or blankets and sheets * At least 2 Buckets - one can be used for washing up dishes, clothes, etc. The other for collecting water, kindling for the fire etc. * Folding table and chairs * Hat, Sunglasses and Clothing suitable for all weather conditions (make sure you pack a rain jacket, if you don't it will rain for sure) * Cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery and a can opener * Gas lamp or battery lights * Extra mantles for gas lamp * Torch * Headlamp is not essential but is a good idea and allows you to keep both hands free * Food and drink (not just beer) * Hot and cold drinking flask * Gas bottles (make sure they are full) * 12V air compressor for vehicle tyres (check that your 12v socket in your vehicle works) * Pack of cards, board games, sports equipment, etc * First aid kit (make sure it is well stocked) * Snake bite kit * Radio * Plastic bags to store rubbish (remember if you are in an area where dingos are found you must not leave any food scraps out when going to bed. Large lockable plastic containers are recommended) * Plastic container with tap for water * Esky or camp fridge * Rubber or carpet mats for the tent entrance * Spare batteries, toilet paper, water proof matches, sunscreen and insect repellent * Tarps, waterproofing agents and possibly a groundsheet (check you have enough ropes, pegs and poles) * Toilet / shower tent, solar shower * Tools - shovel, spanner, pliers, hammer and pocket or combination knife * Small rope and clothes pegs for hanging your towels and wet clothes * You may wish to personalise this list to suit your requirements Have a great trip and relax. Oh yeah, don't forget clean jocks !
